The way the wall can be sent ahead on catalyst is going to make an awesome offensive ability, blind and slowed in a targeted area. If you thought caustic and horizon ults are annoying get ready for this one.
I Think she will be the worse of both of them, but all ulti have a break point maybe the wall Can be break with bullet/grenade or with the ulti of banga/fuse/Gibi. I Hope that she Will not be cheated.
@LaurRfrench I think it’s not destructible given bullets can pass through it but maybe explosives could, no way to tell until she’s released i suppose.
Respawn try not to create debuff heroes that are hard to balance challenge- IMPOSSIBLE

@ꞏ at this point Caustics ult is mildly annoying and they talking about another nerf whilst horizons is majority fatal and no one seems to talk about it.
Probably has to do with differences in casual and rank. I see it’s devastating in the right hands and effective in team comps and communication but I hardly ever see a fatal Horizon ULT. You can maneuver out of it, you can break it, you can counter it with abilities…I think I’d contribute maybe a handful of deaths to the Horizon ULT. It never seemed strong to me, till I see Pros use it.

I think the issue with the ulti is the fact that you have to be in a lateral position. I was thinking that we would spawn it as a wall in front of us but instead, it is a line that we form and get behind.

It can be like mei's ice wall, where you can toggle it so it's either vertical or horizontal

Think of it like Valorant. In Valorant there are plenty of abilities like this and they allow you to walk through an open area while cutting off vision from where you know the enemies are. It can allow you to get out of a bad situation of put up a barrier between you and someone 3rd partying.
She’s such a fun character to play! Hope she gets more cosmetics soon and an heirloom too!
Going by the past release windows for heirlooms, Catalyst will get hers by Season 19 at the earliest, as the shortest wait time for heirlooms from a few DLC legends was a window of four seasons.

Im really curious to see how her ult affects other abilities such as phasing, grappling, Gibbys dome, horizons ult etc
Imagine tossing your ult as horizon and a wall of black goo just grabs newt until he's gone.
It reminds me of the area denial smoke orbs give in games like Counter Strike or Valorant, messing more with people's information than their health and making them waste ammo
It apparently blocks all scanning, Seer passive included
Or even Caustics gas traps. Like place out a couple of them and just walk in blindly

I am VERY happy her abilities didn't turn out as the ones we've seen in the leaks. The tower and platform building were so underwhelming honestly. This is much more interesting and game changing :D

@Solar Rain Pretty sure when they referred to not adding stuns and blinds, they were referring to steering clear from offensive abilities that do so; for example: flash bangs. You can simply choose not to walk through a catalyst wall

I saw someone complaining that ot wasn't a mobility legend. I don't think that a mobility legend will fix things like stuns and wallhack legends. Mobility even gets countered by stuns.

exactly my thoughts, the slow and blind when you go through it seems a bit op, like when seer was first released (it was broken!). it is not like a bubble fight. let's just see what will happen, I am curious about the endgames

You just scan and shoot through it, or horizon tact over it, pred lobbies always have a scanner and a horizon. And 10 team alive in final circle never happens.
We're definitely shifting toward a more defensive meta, it's going to get interesting.

I like how octane runs into a fight ahead of everyone else and is instantly knocked, truly the apex experience
I really can't wait to play as her. Her kit looks so interesting, and loving the emotes and the one execution we've seen...which is brutal.

I love how she is immune to her tactical (just like caustic), whereas Wattson who was already struggling, is not (and is going to become even more obsolete). Truly an Apex moment.
I think wattson will be a good choice with her in pubs just because you can fence her wall and as they come out they walk into a fence
I actually think the reinforcing doors will work quite well with wattson, as well as the ultimate too, place some fences near the wall and if people pass through it slows them down even further (that is if the slowing effect stacks) I got a feeling she might get a higher pick rate next season

I have mixed feeling about the blind after walking through the ultimate. it's the strongest visual affect we have till now, it's even stronger than caustic's, pretty much a blind. I'll just have to wait and see.
That will be the first thing they remove... and then they will remove the slowdown... and they they will make the tactical no longer do damage...

That wall is similar to Rhapsody (mobile exclusive agent) ultimate, but probably covers a lot more space, and the fluid hanging on to the enemies body is also an advantage that Rhapsody does not possess.
She seems similar to caustic :
-Can place down traps both defensively and offensively
-Can block doors
-Immune to her own thingies
-Can obstruct vision
I'm so excited for her!! I love how her abilities look and can't wait to try them
Since Catalyst's passive reinforces doors with just a few more hits, that would mean that counters to her would be stuff like Fuse's cluster, Maggie's Wrecking Ball, Rampart's Sheila, a thermite'd Rampage, or just grenades. With the strongest being Rampart's turret imo, since it only takes one bullet from it to break normal doors.
I imagine it will have a set amount of “hp” before it breaks - similar to ramparts walls. But I do agree shiela will probably be the fastest or Maggie’s wrecking ball should one hit any barricade

I know that this is a big ask, but can we get heirlooms up to date. I think that a legend should come out with their heirloom coming out later in the same season. It’s about time they start releasing a bunch of heirlooms so that people don’t have to wait years for their favorite legend to get one. Especially with the additions of heirloom skins. We didn’t even get one this season

Wow, finally they add someone with a completely new ability and not an ability that is a mix of previous characters abilities.
I'm really glad they changed her tactical from what the leaks where I think the way her abilities were in the leaks she would have been a stale less useful version of other defensive legends. The way they are now make fighting a lot more tactical especially in buildings where you can corral enemies to certain areas and lay down traps to force them to sacrifice movement and take damage if they want better positioning.
she looks to be a good counter for mobility legends and third-parties. and those voicelines and emotes! she seems so promising, i cant wait to try her out!

He can pull off some great counter attacks when being pushed with how his ultimate blinds those who walk through the wall! Especially with Watson placing her fences right next to them!

Did anyone notice her passive makes a door as well? Like the doorway it blocked supported the door that was there but then created another were it was missing

Can't wait to try her kit, looks like it benefits people who stay indoors with her reinforce ability as well as her tactical slows people down if they try pushing you in a hallway.
I think it'll work well with caustic wattson or rampart, anything to keep people out of a building you're defending, gives you a bit longer to heal up and prepare for when they try to break through

Some third party teams might wait out the ultimates time but then they'll be sitting ducks for Catalyst to pounce on them with ease
@FunkyFreshYT tbf most of the frustration w third parties comes from not being fully healed, so even just warding them off is worth it
